On Yahoo News, I came across an article entitled, ‘Fat Sex Therapist’ Seriously Compares Fitness Instructors to Nazis During a Speech at a College.

It highlights a guest lecturer at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. Sonalee Rashatwar, who brands herself as the ‘Fat Sex Therapist’ made several shocking claims.

Now, I am not going to read the entire article, but I do encourage you to look it up. Rashatwar’s two hour lecture is also on the St. Olaf College if you are interested.

But, I want to share a few points…

First, she compares placing an overweight child on a diet to sexual abuse stating, “…child cannot consent to being on a diet the same way a child cannot consent to having sex.”

Is she serious? She is equating placing a child on a diet to rape.

But wait, it gets better…

Next, she goes on to describe the science that labels obesity unhealthy as “fat-phobic” science, stating that it is “often actually eugenic science . . . . eugenic science is Nazi science.”

She actually believes that her high blood pressure is not caused by her weight, but by the stress put on her related to body image.

Then, she takes it a to a whole new level saying that “it’s surprising that the man who shot up Christchurch, New Zealand, was also a fitness instructor,” and that it is “a clear communication that there’s still an idealized body.”

How do we even start to unpack a statement like this? What does she want us to do, place all fitness instructors on the “no fly list” and deny them the right to own firearms?

She goes on to say, “Nazis really love this idea of an idealized body, and so it makes a lot of sense to me that a fitness instructor . . . might also think about an idealized body in this thin white supremacist way.”

Granted, I have literally called a fitness trainer a Nazi to his face, but I didn’t actually mean it.

This is where we are in America, right now, and it is pure craziness. If you have a problem with something, rather than having an intellectually honest debate, just blame it on Nazism and White Supremacy.

Facts are facts.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, Obesity is linked to…

  • Heart disease and stroke
  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • Some cancers
  • Gallbladder disease and gallstones
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Gout
  • Breathing problems, such as sleep apnea and asthma

In my opinion, this woman is dangerous. Anyone who listens to this person, and embraces the idea that obesity is healthy, is putting their life at risk.

There is no other way to describe it.

It is absolutely absurd that a college or university would bring this… person… in to push radical and unfounded beliefs, trying to convince students into thinking that the only reason medical professionals say obesity is unhealthy is because they are Nazis.

What do you think America?
